Why Introduce Meditation Into the Workplace?


Everyone seems interested to learn how to meditate these days. From Baby Boomers to Generation X-ers, to harried businesspeople, to burnout sufferers, to people looking for more out of life.  People are searching for solutions for the stressful, time urgent, overstimulated lives we live.


Meditation creates a space for us to slow down, but more importantly, to find balance and peace of mind which effects ALL parts of lives - especially how we operate in the workplace. It reduces anxiety, promotes relaxation and boosts performance.


What is Corporate Meditation?


It is a corporate training program where meditation is introduced as a tool for stress reduction and performance enhancement. 

Down-to-earth meditation practices are designed to help your employees to:

  • reduce stress 
  • handle the demands of their jobs
  • maintain a healthy mind, body and spirit     and
  • enhance performance.

The employees are trained in how to meditate properly and why meditation works. Simple 5-10 minute meditation exercises are introduced and documented that they can use right away when the stress levels increase. It is not meant to take time away from  their work - but to help them be more successful at their jobs and stay healthier.


Techniques such as returning to center, softening, surrendering the day, creative problem solving and relationship/team building have profound effects on each employee who chooses to integrate meditation into their daily practice. Presented in a business oriented manner by an 18 year corporate sales veteran. It was created by a formerly burned out business person for other business people to avoid the same fate.

 

Practical Details

Our Corporate Meditation Training Program is presented in 6 weekly modules of 2 1/2 hours each. Participants learn self mastery techniques and how to:

  • meditate in several different ways to see which relaxation technique works best   
  • quiet their restless minds, to focus and concentrate better
  • return to a place of center during stressful times
  • relax the body, relax the mind and open up to inner guidance that can help them at work
  • cooperate with colleagues and build better relationships
  • use what is taught in the class immediately afterwards and have fun!

Sessions are generally held on 6 consecutive weeks, first thing in the morning and at the same time each week.  

Each attendee receives homework assignments for 5 weeks and will be held accountable to report back on the learning process. A complete binder with comprehensive information about corporate applications and benefits of meditation is given to each person.

As an added support tool, each will receive a copy of our own product: Workplace Meditation: Reduce Stress for Greater Success to support their efforts. This CD contains 5 guided meditations on different business oriented subjects.

 

This program can be adapted and modified for the needs of your organization and can also be presented at company meetings as a half day breakout session.
